Coloring cartoon characters

What is the best design software to use if I draw cartoon and want to color it?

I am good in drawing but I have no idea how to digitize it. Where do you suggest I start. What courses should I take? In which software?

I would appreciate the help

I am not much of an expert in this either but from what I know, I think the best software to use is adobe illustrator. I personally never used it my self but I know many people who prefer using that because of its amazing results. Try looking that up.

Here's my little info about adobe illustrator.

Adobe Illustrator is a standard illustration software package used in the design professions. It will allow you to create detailed vector based artwork and text, giving you a powerfu tool to use in the creation of print media and web graphics. In this tutorial we will introduce you to Illustrator by explaining the tools you need to create basic artwork and page design.

There are several on-line resources available for help and creative inspiration, the most important of which is the Adobe website, http://www.adobe.com. From the homepage you'll find links to a gallery of work done by various artists using Illustrator and other Adobe products. They can be quite inspirational (though a little intimidating) as they provide beautiful and creative examples of just what can be done with this powerful program.

I would also try Adobe Illustrator. Its a nice piece of software for drawing.
If you want something easy, start with Corel Draw. :D
